JEE Aspirant : I am preparing for iit jee for last 2 years from vidyamandir classes. I am studying in class 12 . I have realised that i am not able to attempt class 11 questions. I have studied hard for these 2 years but still this has happened . Also there is no time left for studying class 11 now and i have started studying for boards .My no.of attempts have drastically fallen. ( it was 70 earlier and 30 now) . What should i do? Your advice is very important for me. Pls help me. Waiting for reply. Thank you.
FreeShiksha : Go back to these tests where you found yourself doing badly. Analyze the test and find out the actual reason for the fall of attempts. Is it because you have forgotten the syllabus? Or is it because the level of the test was high.? If you read back your notes, do you find the 11th concepts fresh? Please do that and write back to us. You need to find the actual reasons. Spare some time from your board preparation. We have to get over this anxiety. We can only get past that once the real reasons are known.

JEE Aspirant:
Hello Sir,
I am Parth from Mumbai and I need your help regarding my JEE exam. I have done mostly with HC VERMA physics, I have made myself strong in organic chemistry and working on physical chemistry and I am doing better in Math for boards and MAINS but still I don’t know why I am failing. Recently I gave a sample test in which I got just 58/360 which depressed me a lot.
Please suggest me some tips or guidelines. I don’t go for any coaching classes so there’s no one to guide me. Please help me with some techniques to excel in JEE MAINS and ADVANCE.
FreeShiksha:
Hi Parth,
This happens very often. We work hard but in the mock tests, we score very less. You have to get over this disappointment. These sample papers are usually made way above the normal difficulty level of the tests. Actual exams will test your conceptual clarity. Try doing old JEE papers and rate your preparation based on that. Do other sample papers for practice. After the mock test do look at each and every solution of the question and do the same question 2, 3 times in a week. Idea is to put into practice a type of question that may be different from what conventional books like HC Verma teach.
All the best.

Ruhil,
There is no right or wrong decision. You should take a decision and then make it right. If this makes you feel comfortable about boards then this is the way it should be. Please go ahead and follow this plan wholeheartedly and believe in your decision.:) Refer the below video also.
Aspirant:
sir i just wanted to inform that i am confused with my preparation.
i joined the coachings(in kanpur) in April.about 7 months have passed and i am still not confident with whatever i have studied
i score good in tests.
i am basically in top 5 of my physics and chemistry coaching (in a class of about 500 students)
but not in maths which is my weak point
sir i do well in tests . i am able to solve difficult numericals(those from irodov)
but i never become confident with the topic i have studied.
for eg. i have given about 7-8 tests of newton laws of motion (solved full HCV and Irodov) , solved all sheets given by my physics teacher , finished NCERT.
but i am still not confident that yes my newton laws of motion is finally finished .
sir is it lack of confidence or anything else i can't decide. I do all i can . but still afraid that there is something of some specific chapter.
please suggest something
Thanking You
Regards

Hi Virat,
You have to calm your nerves and trust your instincts. Tell yourself everyday in the morning that the decisions you take, the path you follow and the great mind that you have is going to do right under all circumstances. Celebrate your achievement of doing well. Applaud yourself when you solve a tough question. You have to back yourself. Everytime your mind tells you that you are not confident tell t consciously that you are indeed doing well and hence are confident. In due course of time your mind will believe what you tell it repeatedly.

Hey freeshiksha... You have helped me i many areas... I'm Sreejith and i study in Class 9. I have a big dream of getting into IIT... Please tell me what should i do in Class 9 as preparation to IIT-JEE
You have to learn to learn. That means learn how to study and learn anything fast and in an easy effective way. Old methods of reading books and solving questions can be time taking and sometimes boring. You can enhance your learning through better ways to learn. You can use ways such as learning formulas or reactions by making them like a song so that you remember them for a longer time. View this video list to know how to learn fast. For JEE its too early for you o start you can wait until 11th or start with calculas and strengthen this topic to the core.
